Mobilizing communities to reconnect with rivers through awareness, participation, and collective environmental action.
River March is a community-driven initiative aimed at restoring respect, responsibility, and stewardship toward India’s rivers. The project brings together students, citizens, educators, and local organizations to understand the ecological importance of rivers and the challenges they face.
Through marches, clean-up drives, educational sessions, and on-ground engagement, River March creates visible and participatory platforms for environmental action. Participants learn about river ecosystems, pollution impacts, and sustainable water practices while actively contributing to restoration efforts.
The initiative emphasizes collective responsibility and long-term behavioral change. By turning awareness into action, River March strengthens the relationship between communities and their local rivers, encouraging protection, care, and sustainable use of water resources.
Rivers survive when communities choose to protect them.
