Visual Storytelling for Sustainability

Using short-form visual storytelling to document, amplify, and inspire real sustainability action within communities.
Social Shorts is EdEn’s community-driven media initiative that transforms storytelling into a tool for environmental action. The project empowers youth and local communities to capture short videos and visual narratives that highlight sustainability practices, grassroots initiatives, and everyday environmental solutions.
By focusing on authentic, local stories, Social Shorts creates relatable content that inspires awareness and participation. Participants are trained to observe, document, and communicate environmental challenges and solutions using accessible digital tools such as mobile phones and basic media equipment.
The initiative strengthens media literacy while fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility among participants. Social Shorts demonstrates how creativity and communication can drive collective understanding and motivate sustainable behavior at the community level.
Every story has the power to inspire action.
